Another summer favourite to test today in the form of Stowford Press LA Cider. Made by Westons it should be the alcohol free cider to set the standard.
It is a well packaged drink. Transparent plastic labels give it a quality look and feel. It boasts no artificial flavours or colours and is also suitable for coeliacs.
On opening you can smell the quality of this low alcohol cider, and it takes a good couple of sips to tell that it is not it full strength cousin. What you can tell though is that it is Westons.
I tested a few bottles of this over a week and my biggest tip is to get this really cold. Chill in the bottom of the fridge for at least 24 hours. Even better chill and serve over ice. If refreshment is your thing then serving this way will bring a smile to your face.
The only down side I can comment on is the price. There are some other alcohol free ciders which are on the test list which beat it hands down on price. Can they beat it on taste though? Be sure to check back!

I believe tescos sell this as their own brand low alcohol cider I’ve tried and can’t see any difference
If this is indeed the same as the Tesco cider then it’s OK. I havent had this branded one but wouldn’t pay more when I can get 500ml for 99p in Tesco. However, if you are OK with drinking 1% aclchol, Sainsbury do their own low alchohol cider which is the best cider I’ve ever tased including all fully alchohol ones. It’s £1.02 a bottle but has been on offer before now at 68p! 2 bottles=1 unit. I used to drink snakebite as a teenager so just for a laugh I bought a bottle of Sainsbury 0.5% larger and mixed the two. Less than 1% snakebite and it is without out dowbt the best BBQ drink I’ve had bar none. Oh happy alchohol free days!
Can anyone tell me the calorific content of Tesco’s low alcohol cider (which is delicious by the way) and also Bavarian non-alcoholic lager, as sold in Sainsbury’s and Tesco’s. Advice would be most appreciated.
